5 Litre Glass Demi-John with Ovaled Neck, 2 Large Cork Bungs and an Airlock

These 5 Litre Glass Demi-Johns are made from traditional glass for hygenic use and ease of cleaning.

These demi-johns are being offered at a discounted price as they were manufactured with a slightly oversized ovaled shape to the top section of the neck and so are being supplied complete with two large cork bungs - one bored to take a standard sized airlock, the other solid (unbored) to be used if storing the brew in the demi-john when fermentation is complete.

The size of the bungs being supplied with these demi-johns are 29mm base diameter x 34mm top diameter, and they are 37mm high. Drilled with an 8mm hole to take our airlocks. All measurements approximate.

NOTE: These fermenting vessles are NOT pressure vessels and so some method of pressure release (e.g. an airlock) must always be used. The stopper bung should only be used once there is no opportunity for further fermentation. When filling, please remember that the fermenting yeast often produces a froth and space should be allowed for this.
