Precipitated Chalk 50g Tub

Precipitated chalk is used to reduce the acidity in wines.

The addition of 7g per gallon will lower the acidity by approximately 1.5 PPT.

The wine must will start to foam because gas is given up by the chalk as it neutralises some of the acid so please ensure that there is enough headspace in the vessel to allow for the foam.
